The Wellness Consortium
Kansas City’s Premier Network of Wellness Practitioners and Vendors

Welcome to Your Holistic Networking  & Business Support Group

We are wellness practitioners and vendors in the Kansas City area, passionate about whole-person health.
While growing our individual businesses is important, we also have a heart for making a difference in people’s lives.

We believe all wellness practitioners and vendors – including you – have an important role to play in the well-being of our community. That’s why we come together to learn how each of our different services can better help people discover the best version of themselves.

We use the framework called the Quadrants of Well-Being to keep the wellness language easy and consistent for our community.

Our group is diverse – made up of medical doctors, chiropractors, bodyworkers, acupuncturists, aromatherapists, personal chefs, counselors, physical therapists and trainers, yoga teachers, infrared sauna owners, local cafe owners, professional organizers, Feng Shui practitioners, business coaches, and many other different business support services including copywriting, image branding, website support, social media strategists, and brand messaging.

While we all come from many different walks of life and years served in our industries, we help people see that all it takes to get moving in the right direction is taking the next step in front of them.

“I highly recommend the consortium for those looking for a true support system – professionally and personally. I came to the Wellness Consortium looking for a better way to network and connect with professionals that get what we do, as well as to personally grow by connecting with people in the wellness realm. Unlike my prior networking group, which had many people sitting back with a “what can you do for me” energy, I feel a genuine interest and care from other members. When we had an open house, members showed up for support, which was huge. Every time I come to a meeting, it’s full of positive giving energy and a genuine desire to get to know each other better. I have grown and learned so much by being a member. The 1-to-1 meetings have given me insight into what I could do differently from a business aspect, as well as validating what I’m doing well, not to mention how I can better support the other members. Beyond the referrals I have received – which I had trouble getting in my last group – members have trusted me enough to become patients themselves, even when I am not their direct therapist. I recommend this group because the members are there because they truly want to build and bolster the wellness community and support each other in doing so. It is heart-warming to see multiple professionals doing similar work, yet still supporting each other because they recognize there is enough business for everyone to succeed.”

Membership Benefits

Meet Your Community
Convenience is a deal-breaker for many people, which is why we established seven small groups of wellness practitioners and vendors across the Kansas City area. With meetings in your neighborhood, this encourages our members to attend meetings because of location convenience.

Additionally, we have a virtual meeting options every month to make it even easier to attend a meeting.

Locations
  • Bonner Springs – Fourth Wednesday (8:00am – 9:00am)
  • Cass County – Second Friday (8:00am-9:00am)
  • Leawood – Third Wednesdays (8:00am – 9:00am)
  • Lee’s Summit – Fourth Wednesdays (9:00am – 10:00am)
  • North KC – Fourth Tuesdays (6:00pm – 7:00pm)
  • Shawnee – Second Wednesdays (8:00am – 9:15am)
  • South OP – Second Thursdays (12:00pm – 1:00pm)
  • Virtual Group – First Tuesdays (12:00pm – 1:00pm CDT)
Each monthly gathering encourages you to connect, build, and support one another, whether that’s sharing advice, successful tools and resources, or most commonly, referring patients or clients to each other’s businesses.
Better Together
We understand feeling supported is a human need, especially as business owners. It’s one of the many reasons this group was founded. Our members have more than a vision – they know this is their life purpose, to better our community and the way we take care of ourselves and each other.

Monthly meetings are focused on building relationships and in addition to speaking about who we are and what we do, include sharing how we’re handling today’s challenges, giving business tips, and many other memorable moments that ultimately build lifetime relationships with each other. These relationships are what build not only build your trusted referral network, but also build your spirit, mind, and body so you can continue giving to your business with a full cup.

“Not only did I find a new world I fit into after leaving corporate, but my business idea was literally born from the inspiration I got after attending my first Wellness Consortium meeting. A recommendation from my wellness practitioner to visit the consortium in order to network around job opportunities after losing a job originally led me to my first meeting. As I sat there and listened to others stories, I felt that this wellness world was where I belonged. Rather than needing a job from someone else, I realized I already had the healthy products and skills to start my own juicing and food prep business. I have remained an active member because of the people. It’s a great community filled with healthy, positive people who are so kind and welcoming. Even before I got to know many members, I started to get clients. As I have deepened my connections through regular Wellness Consortium meetings and one-on-ones with other members, the referrals have grown. I recommend this group to anyone who is building a wellness business and needs to get connected and find referrals. It’s a great thing to be a part of!”

Support

A support system is about more than just sharing the hard stuff. In fact, what we love most about it is celebrating each other’s successes. We are made to lift each other up, not just cheering you on from the sidelines, but also walking the path together.

Engage in forum conversations in our portal or on the Wellness Consortium Facebook page, share business offers for other members, find accountability partners, share resources, write each other reviews, and show up at each other’s events.

Our wellness practitioners and vendors rave this is one of the best communities they have ever belonged. Why? Each small group across the Kansas City area makes it a place that feels “soul to soul” rather than “role to role”. Wellness practitioners and vendors feel that sense of community during their gatherings, and it fuels each of them to continue growing personally and professionally.

“If you are looking for like-minded people who can support you and lift you up, this is the place to be! It can be hard to be a solopreneur because you can feel alone. This group filled the role, being a place I can ask questions and collaborate so I feel supported. Personally, I’ve met amazing people who have become close friends. Professionally I have received clients both from member referrals as well as fellow members using my services. Likewise, I’ve found wonderful practitioners to support my own health.”

“I recommend that Wellness Consortium to anybody working in the wellness realm because there is nothing else like this group in terms of authentic people who want you to be successful and have the common goal of getting and keeping our community well. I joined the consortium because being a small business is rough. You need to be surrounded by great businesses for exposure to other wellness knowledge and networking. I have received much value from this network of individuals, primarily the phenomenal opportunity for sharing knowledge, experiences, and recommendations so we can all deliver the best-in-class patient care we aim for. Inevitably, there are times when some aspect of patient care is not in our lane. It is critical to have trusted experts to refer to and lean into during these times and this group is it! ”

“The Wellness Consortium is an amazing community. As long as you’re willing to show up and give, it will come back in abundance! As a solopreneur, I was looking for the community I crave through different networking groups and not finding the people who were interested enough to even ask more about Feng Shui. Here it just clicked. Yes, we are all here to grow our businesses, but this group provides so much more – friendships, business opportunities, referrals, self-development, business resources – the bounty never stops! The members are so invested in everything each of us are doing.”
Robyn Stevens

Feng Shui Consultant, Robyn Stevens Feng Shui

“The Wellness Consortium is so much more than just a networking group – it is a place where you can be part of a community that supports you for who you are and what you do in all areas of life. I dearly love this organization and am very glad I was referred here. It is my favorite networking group (which says a lot because I am involved in several other organizations in the KC area) for this reason. I have made true friends in this group, not just business associates. The value of this group is beyond measure in the referrals, contacts, joint ventures, and support it provides. ”
Kimberly Beer

Entrepreneurial Strategist & Creative Adventurer, Be More Business

“The Wellness Consortium has provided me with the opportunity to discover new treasures within my community. Knowing others is a gift. Though I have been practicing integrative medicine in the Kansas City area for 10 years (already with a solid referral network in place), finding additional providers close to me and meeting them in person has allowed me to better service my patients through coming to know other skilled practitioners who are part of the Wellness Consortium. I have been able to offer more comprehensive and individualized care through the wider trusted wellness community. While the primary value of my membership is connecting with my local community and getting to know others, there has also been an unexpected value-add of business support. There is a real sense that the Wellness Consortium does not exist for itself, but for its members. It has an uncanny sense of anticipating member’s needs and connecting resources that help each individual member prosper.“
Jeff Evilsizor

Owner, Vivo Integrative Medicine of Kansas City

“The Wellness Consortium is a great group for creating relationships and supporting the holistic community in Kansas City as a whole. I personally believe that the stronger the holistic community is as a whole in KC, the better it helps me as an individual practitioner. From this perspective, my membership provides important value in educating the community about holistic services while helping to create a practitioner network for the public and each other to refer to. In addition to the big community picture, the group allows me to create relationships, and through them, business opportunities. After attending one of the semi-annual events, one such connection led to a speaking invitation at a local holistic school. From direct referrals to these additional opportunities, every meeting I attend I create or strengthen a relationship. If you are involved in wellness and focused on the bigger picture of how you can help your clients, this group can help create relationships and support referrals.”
Travis Perret

Owner, Exercise Therapy of Kansas City

“I’m part of the Wellness Consortium because of the community. The ability to connect with others who are passionate about whole-person health AND building connections is priceless. This community provides access to a wide range of health and wellness specialties I can share with my clients, and utilize for myself. There is a depth of knowledge and resources in The Wellness Consortium, and you’d be hard pressed to find another group of professionals so willing to help.”
Chelsea Laub

Enneagram Practitioner

“I joined the Wellness Consortium to help grow my business. I stayed because it’s worked! Every other networking group was full of professionals like realtors, lawyers, roofers – nice people, but they didn’t understand my business and weren’t helpful in building my clients. This group gets what I do, are willing to come out and try my services, shares helpful feedback, and meet you where you are – both in business and in your own wellness journey. The members are kind, caring, and non-judgmental and I feel welcome and understood.”
Nancy Oliver

Owner, Infrared Oasis

“Being a part of the Wellness Consortium has allowed me to build relationships that have positively changed the momentum of my business, and the friendships are an added benefit! The referrals have been excellent, and I love the collaborative relationships to assist with patient care. I feel good knowing they receive the care they need from a trusted source.”
